Over a year ago I started this project. After I came with the idea of the PIF card, I set myself a goal to have 1 million of them in active circulation (ie. people are actually using them at least once per month) by 2012. I am waaaaaaaay short of this target. I have probably given out only about 100. If the traffic for this web site is any indication of the traffic the cards have had in real life, I need to change my tactics.

Nevertheless, I am encouraged. Look at the links section of this web site, and you will understand why. In the last 4 months, I have discovered so many more people with the same intent! Through different means, but all with the same end goal in mind: To leave the world a better place.

I guess I shouldn’t have been surprised. Look at all the ecological movements; that’s just what they are trying to do. Or at the numerous charities that bug us with their constant telemarketing at dinner time. Or at the variety of churches, with their endless denominations, competing with each other to Save Our Souls.

They all have one thing in common. For the most part, their ideals are in the right place. They want to help others, and leave the world better in their wake. You could argue on their varying degrees of effectiveness. Does Greenpeace leave the world a better place with some of its’ PR tactics? Do all churches follow the principle of ‘doing Good unto others’? Are charities becoming vicious dogs fighting for the last piece of meat onto a not very large bone?

If you think ‘Yes’ may be the answer to some of these questions, visit the Links page on this site.
