Nick was nice enough to drive me to a gas station and back to my car and stay with me until I was on my way. I offered to give Nick some money for his thoughtful time, but he refused to accept it. We find surviving on a pension tough it covers our daily needs but doesn't leave room for emergency. One of which we sufferred recently. Our car broke down, now for city people a problem but not as big a problem as it is for us. We live 10 kilometres from the nearest town, hubby suffers severe emphysemia and heart problems. So a car is a neccessity not and option... As I can assure you, I severly burnt myslef while the car was out of action and had to call on the help of a neighbour to get me to the Drs. But I am sidetracking...We had no idea where the money was coming from, we recieved a quote for $550. A few days later we recieved an envelope posted locally with a note that said. "A gift for two lovely people" and inside was 5x 100 dollar notes almost enough to cover the car... We have no idea who sent it, we have asked the most likely but they deny it so although there no likelyhood of them reading it here at least I can share a good deed. On the way home I dropped by a neighbour and passed some of the apples on to them. They have just recently moved to our area, and we had a lovely chat shared some recipes for the apples. I said to my daughter age 5 let's help him get home, of course it is never easy to turn around when you want to but we did and asked if he would accept our help, he said yes. I asked about all the groceries and flowers, he said it was all for a special dinner for his wife's birthday that she was very ill.
